songs on iPhone need to delete (itunes match
I need to make room on my iPhone and I would like to know how I can
tell if the songs I want to delete are matched on iCloud.

Check your itunes library on your computer. You music should have an iCloud status of matched, uploaded or purchased. If you have iCloud music library turned on, all this music will be on your phone to stream or download. Change setting in the music app to show only music downloaded then delete appropriate tracks.
